Billings-Tomfohr Trails Signed. Maps and trail blazers will now help you find your way along the newly cleared trails on Coon Hill (the bluff behind Twin Bluff School). More work is happening, but take time this winter to snowshoe, hike, or walk the dog on these great trails!

Cross Country Ski at Memorial Park. You'll find miles of groomed ski trails with new signs along the route will keep you on track. The trails offer gorgeous overlooks, wooded canopies, and prairie vistas. Park at Mississippi National Golf Links parking lot. The ski up to the top is difficult, but the flat trails on top are worth the work.

Hiking Signs Installed. Look for the new Red Wing hiking signs off Seventh Street, Neil Street, and Perlich Avenue. These point residents in the direction of lesser-known trail heads leading up to our beautiful bluffs. Be on the lookout for more signs over the next year and learn about all the places you can hike the bluffs and trails of Red Wing!

Bike-Ped Policies Passed. Red Wing City Council has now passed a Bike-Pedestrian Master Plan and a Complete Streets Resolution in conjunction with its Comprehensive Plan. Both state that Red Wing will take into consideration the needs of bikers and walkers when it builds or reconstructs its roads.

Trails to Downtown Project Completed. It's easier now to travel between downtown and both the Cannon Valley Trail and the Hay Creek Trail. Along Levee Road you'll see new "share the road" signs and trail street markings.

Trail Becomes Safer. Stop signs are now installed at the head of Cannon Valley Trail, facing both east and west, to make the area safer for bicyclists and pedestrians.

Redesign of Intersections. Three major intersections have been redesigned to make it safer for walkers to use. Community members weighed in on design options at community meetings in the summer of 2010. Construction is scheduled sometime between 2014 and 2016.
